We will look back on 2022 as another year full of challenges, uncertainties and ambiguity. While many of us expected 2022 to be a quieter year than the previous one, the closure of the Chinese market for political reasons and Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine at the end of February have turned things upside down.
We won’t deny it – it required focus from the whole MV GROUP team. Already on the first day of the war, we decided to withdraw from the Russian and Belarusian markets and stopped importing Russian goods. The war’s impact on inflation and the cost of raw materials led to unforeseen costs, while the disruption in the supply chain created many challenges to the smooth running of production.
But despite all the difficulties, we continued to move forward. According to unaudited figures, MV GROUP’s sales revenue excluding excise duty in 2022 will grow by 15% compared to 2021. Inflationary price changes and the successful introduction of new products in the home market contributed significantly to this. The final result was also positively influenced by record results of distribution companies in Lithuania and Latvia, while the sales growth in Poland confirms our ability to develop our export markets faster.
Progressive, environmentally friendly solutions and employee well-being are a prerequisite for every responsible business, and last year we continued our long-term investments in process digitization, technology modernization, sustainability and employee development. The migration of our business management system to cloud computing, the development of our solar power plant, and the development of an in-house MV GROUP Academy are just some of the projects we will continue to develop this year.
Last year was also a year to celebrate: MV GROUP Distribution LT celebrated its 30th-anniversary last year. On that occasion, we decided to strengthen our position in the international arena by changing the names of all our distribution companies. We now have four distribution companies, MV GROUP Distribution LT, MV GROUP Distribution LV, MV GROUP Distribution EE and MV GROUP Distribution PL. We hope that the unified names will ensure better recognition worldwide.
Our focus this year is on efficiency and quality in all areas. We plan to continue to grow our exports, which have been our priority for many years. We expect to make a more significant breakthrough in the US market, as well as strengthening our position in Europe and other continents. We look forward to 2023 – we hope that our desire to be the best and our commitment to ourselves and others will help us to maintain the high quality of our work, to overcome potential challenges, and to continue to grow successfully together with you.
